Innsbruck 1998

9.7.98 - A very long drive today, left at 10.30 and arrived at about 4 pm.  Our pension is 10 mins from Innsbruck in the mountains.  Quite old room and musty.  Christian wasn't too impressed.  Went to Innsbruck for tea and found a fabulous restaurant that specialises in wiener schnitzel. What a feat "Schnitzelparadis".  Reasonably priced.  Walked to old part of town and watched a free concert in the town square.  There is even a McDonalds in this beautiful town. After a huge tea the boys ate McDonalds. Their appetites are great.

Day 14 - Today we drove to Austria to a town called Innsbruck.  On the way we passed under a tunnel that goes straight through a mountain. The tunnel went for 14 km and was very polluted. On the roof they have big fans that move the air that is full of exhaust out of the tunnel.  We also saw a lot of waterfalls and where it had eaten away at the rock in the mountain.  We also saw some more snow that was softer than the first snow that we saw.  Josh and I made a snow man and it was the dumbest snow man in the world.

Day 14 - Today we had breakfast and then packed the car and then we started to drive to Innsbruck and on the way we stopped at a mountain that had fresh snow on the hills.  When we got into the cafe it was warm, then Christian and I made a snow man.  It was just a big blob of snow with a little blob on the top.  We passed through a tunnel on the way and it was 14 km long and we passed under a rock which they had to chisel away so the cars could get through.
