Flying to Singapore 1998

Jo-Ann
26.6.98 - Well today is the big day, I didn't think it would ever come.  Up very early 6 am, got to the airport before the big rush.  The plane carries 430 and it was full.  We had seats right near the exit door.  Plenty of room to stretch out legs. Only trouble was that Stephen couldn't sit with us as there were only 3 seats, so he sat behind.
Meals were okay, the boys had a great time with their own T.V. screens & Nintendo games & movies.  I watched 3 movies, The Gingerbread Man, The Wedding Singer, The Man in the Iron Mask.  Stephen drank scotch (3) they were very strong and he had nothing to eat.  So he wasn't feeling well by the end of the trip.
After 7 hours I was ready to get off. We had to turn our watches back 2 hrs.
Went walking to China Town tonight.  What a dump! Couldn't find any place nice to eat.  Ended up at McDonalds.  No such thing as a double cheese and bacon burger.  Prices not much different to Australian prices.

Day 1 - I bought my Game Boy and two games.  On the plane they had a T.V. and a built in Nintendo.  For lunch I had the Kids Meal, you had a Milky Way a couple of sandwiches and a quiche pie.
In the plane we got to go up to the cockpit and their was lots of buttons and the pilots talked to us.
In Singapore it was really hot and when we got to the airport it was a long walk to get out.  We had our own room at the hotel and in the afternoon we went for a six hour walk.

Day 1 - We left the airport at 9.30 this morning, at first I was boring, but once you got up in the air it was fun.  The plane had a little T.V. that had music, television, games and lots more.  We got to go to the cockpit to see the pilots.  There were more buttons than I could count.
The time in Singapore is 2 hrs behind Australia time, so we had a touch of Jet Lag.  In the city the weather is terrible, its hot and sticky and the air smells of pollution.  Tomorrow we are leaving for paris.
